About Keith Stanton
He was born in Dunedin, New Zealand.
He
was educated at Maori Hill Primary School and Otago Boys
High School.
In 1950 he joined, in Dunedin, the New Zealand wide family
business of Stanton Bros Ltd Stationers & Printers as an
Imports clerk, from there moving through the ranks to Sales representative,
Invercargill Branch Manager, NZ Industrial Division manager
based in Christchurch, and a member of Board of Directors.
In 1978 he bought out the Industrial Fastening Division and
became Managing Director of his own company SIFCO
Distributors Ltd. This company developed fast to become a
leader in its field with 18 sales representatives, 5 sales
offices and 2 importing warehouses.
After 25 years, he in 2003, sold this company to his son Paul. SIFCO has continued to be a market leader and a very
successful company. Keith is currently Chairman
of SIFCO
Distributors Ltd board of directors.
In 2003 he established the business and property management
company BAPM New Zealand Ltd, thus managing for clients their
businesses and property. BAPM also developed a website
design and management company called Webstyle to built
and managed websites for his clients.
As a business mentor he has provided support to the business
community.
In 1988 he became interested in helping people in the
undeveloped world. With the assistance of two family trusts
and working through Rotary and World Vision he has been able
to complete some 528 projects, mainly water wells, medical
centre’s and schools*. The aim has been to provide a hand up
not a hand out.*
Keith, in 2012, was awarded by Rotary International with its
highest honour the ‘Service above Self Award’.

Her Majesty The Queen awarded Keith Membership of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM).
